Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman said that the COAS should not be given further extension. According to the details, briefing to the media Imran Khan said that giving extension to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Ashfaq Kiyani would not be fruitful to the institution in any way. Appreciating the target operations that have begun last week, Imran Khan said that PM has taken good start to tackling with the terrorism menace in the country.
Imran Khan said that in order to enter into peaceful talking and negotiations with Taliban, ceasefire should be observed. The leader also demanded the cases against the former President Asif Ali Zardari to be opened.
PML-N and PTI after coming into power have termed terrorism as the root cause of the destabilized socio-political and economic conditions in the country. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) terrorist activities remain the biggest challenge.
Nawaz government in its last tenure had also taken imperative steps to tackle the terror issues. The Operation Clean Up in 1999 against the criminal bodies especially more to that of MQM had helped him to gain positive response and co-operation from the respective bodies. The last government had not taken any serious step or shown any concern in eliminating the menace that persists deep in our country, making it weak from the very basic foundations. The target operations carried by police forces and rangers have revealed the international intelligence to be allegedly involved including U.A.E, Iran, and Saudi Arabia to be among the countries.
